A Dark Song is one of my favorite movies of the past 10 years, and it’s a film I think everyone who reads this stack needs to watch. It’s a profound work of art built around a profound act of faith, and as such is deeply numinous and rewarding for attentive viewers.
Many have said it’s the most powerful and accurate depiction of ceremonial magic put to film, but don’t let that scare you. It’s a powerful and heart-wrenching meditation on grief, loss and forgiveness that feels to me like true religion.
